Congratulations to these scholars, who have received awards, experienced personal or professional success, or been recognized for their accomplishments during the 2021-2022 academic year:

  • Emma Andrade, junior, B.S. Mathematics

    • Awarded a Department of Defense Summer Internship which offers students hands-on experience at one of over 200 of the nation’s most innovative laboratories across the Army, Navy, Air Force and larger Department of Defense.

  • Ali Dadawalla, sophomore, B.S. Special Major, Neuroscience

  • Alea Droker, graduating senior, B.A. English Literature

    • Presented the paper “Rejoicing in Each Others Arms: Finding Community in Jewish and Hindu Love Poems” at the College of Arts and Humanities honors symposium.

  • Sydney Fox, graduating senior, B.S. Biochemistry

    • Recipient of a prestigious 2022-23 Fulbright Fellowship Award. The award will support Sydney in a one-year, independent research project at Reykjavik University to study microplastics present in the Vatnajokull ice caps.

  • Sumanjit Gill, graduating senior, B.S. Computer Engineering

  • Lauren Heard, graduating senior, B.A. Theatre Arts, Design/Tech Option

  • Elise Higgs, graduating senior, B.A. Political Science

    • Presented her honors thesis titled “Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere: Trying Presidents for Human Rights Abuses in Argentina, Colombia, and Peru” at the High Impact Practices Student Symposium on May 13, 2022.

  • Maram Kiran, graduating senior, B.S. Biochemitry 

  • Ann Kreuscher, graduating senior, B.A. Political Science

    • Received the prestigious Panetta Fellowship and spent a semester working in Congressional Minority Leader, Kevin McCarthy's D.C. office for the Fall 2021 semester.

    • Presented her honors thesis titled “Pay to Play: Gender and Partisan Differences in the Net Worth between Congressional Candidates and Incumbents” at the Midwest Political Science Association's Annual meeting in 2021.

    • Named as 2022 Outstanding Political Science Student.
