Beginning with the entering cohort of 2012, SFHC began its initiative to promote undergraduate research by requiring the completion of a scholarly activity project under the mentorship of a faculty member in a scholar’s field of study.

From its inception, SFHC was envisioned as a “community of learners” wherein its students would learn not only from their professors but also from other students who, like themselves, are committed to making the most of their undergraduate experiences and have an intense desire to change their communities and workplaces, and the world, for the better.

Each day, I am thankful to be the SFHC Director. I am filled with gratitude because my work allows me to spend time with academically-talented students who have chosen to chase their big dreams. They are pursuing those dreams while also serving the communities they live in, both on- and off-campus.
