Dear alumni, families, and friends of the Smittcamp Family Honors College (SFHC),

Welcome to the Summer 2024 issue of Honorable Times, the semi-annual SFHC Newsletter!

In the 23-campus CSU system, SFHC is truly unique. While being supported financially (President’s Honors Scholarship plus a Housing Stipend), our scholars are provided with access to a variety of extra-curricular opportunities (research, community service, leadership, employment, etc.) within a small liberal arts college environment that houses a community of like-minded individuals. It really is the best of both worlds!

From its inception, SFHC was envisioned as a “community of learners” wherein its students would learn not only from their professors but also from other students who, like themselves, are committed to making the most of their undergraduate experiences and have an intense desire to change their communities and workplaces, and the world, for the better. This learning community combines the three elements of a successful college experience—academic, residential, social—with connected faculty and staff to support students in their quest to learn, lead, and excel.

An excellent example of the tremendous effect of such a learning community on the overall success of our students is provided by Mr. Raj S. Badhesha (B.S. Business Administration, Marketing Option, 2005), who is our featured alum for this issue (From Sanger to Superior Court of Fresno County).
