Success Fund Supports Conference Attendee

Dear Donors of the SFHC Student Success Fund,

Attending the 2022 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX was an invaluable experience in my educational and career goals. As a student in the field of kinesiology, I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in research outside of my major. This research I presented was a part of my internship at the Wake Forest School of Medicine REU based on head acceleration exposure in dirt track motorsports. This experience was a meaningful opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.

The conference provided a platform for me to share my research with a wider audience and to gain valuable feedback from experts in the field. It also allowed me to learn about the latest developments and research in biomedical engineering, which helped to broaden my perspective and deepen my understanding of the field. In addition, the conference provided networking opportunities with many graduate faculty at top universities, which will be crucial as I continue to further my academic career.

I am grateful for the support of the Smittcamp Family Honors College's Student Success Fund, which made it possible for me to attend the conference. Iā€™d like to express my sincere gratitude to all of the donors who have had a positive impact on my academic journey.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Tom
