In September 2023, SFHC alumna Sarah Maricle gave a presentation at Honors Colloquium titled “ASL Interpreting: Pathways and Perspectives,” where she discussed the relationship between the Deaf community, American Sign Language, ASL Interpreters, and the hearing world.

Smittcamp volunteer activities plant the seeds for lifelong community engagement. On October 3rd, 2022, Matt Mealer gave a presentation at Honors Colloquium entitled “These Cliches I Know to be True: Four Hackneyed Life Lessons that Proved Hackneyed for Good Reason.”

In 2016, Chris became a sustaining donor to the Smittcamp Family Honors College to support scholarships for President’s Honors Scholars. When asked why he gives, he said, “I give to Smittcamp for one reason: gratitude.”
