Camalah Saleh is a senior scholar double majoring in Political Science and Communication. She has interned with politicians across the country, and was elected as the Fresno State ASI President for 2025-26. This summer, she is attending several business and policy focused programs.

Komal Sandhu, a fourth-year Civil Engineering major, has been researching how to enhance the rail and transit sectors in our valley, particularly as many residents lack access to reliable transportation. She recently presented her findings at the national American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
This November, Hassoon Sarwar will be presenting his research on gastric cancer in Pittsburgh, PA through funding received from SFHC Student Success Fund.

Ajmeet Pama-Ghuman graduated from the Smittcamp Family Honors College in May 2024 with her B.S. in Biology. She was accepted into the San Joaquin Valley Program in Medical Education (SJV PRIME) track at the UCSF School of Medicine, where she is currently finishing her first year.
Juliana is a first year in the pharmacology and toxicology PhD program at the University of California, Davis.

Neil grew up in Lucerne Valley, CA and was admitted as a member of the third SFHC cohort. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005 with a degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Classical Studies. Smittcamp Gives Back
Each year, countless Fresno State students participate in community service through the Jan and Bud Richter Center. This year, five SFHC students have received awards for their dedication to volunteerism.
Julie Logan Lindahl is the General Manager for Fresno State Radio (KFSR and FSR Underground). As a Fresno State alumna and SFHC parent, she has been a recurring challenge donor during Fresno State’s Day of Giving.
Scholars from Dr. Emma Hughes’ HONOR 102 course attended the inaugural “Degrees of Change” graduation at Valley State Prison in Chowchilla.
In 2022, SFHC scholar Nicholas Tom received funding through the Student Success Fund to attend the Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting, where he presented his research on head acceleration exposure in dirt track motorsports.
In September 2023, SFHC alumna Sarah Maricle gave a presentation at Honors Colloquium titled “ASL Interpreting: Pathways and Perspectives,” where she discussed the relationship between the Deaf community, American Sign Language, ASL Interpreters, and the hearing world.
During the 2022-23 academic year, SFHC scholar Ali Dadawalla received funding through the Student Success Fund to attend the International Neuropsychological Society’s 51st Annual Meeting, where he presented his research on Dementia with Lewy Bodies.
Smittcamp volunteer activities plant the seeds for lifelong community engagement. On October 3rd, 2022, Matt Mealer gave a presentation at Honors Colloquium entitled “These Cliches I Know to be True: Four Hackneyed Life Lessons that Proved Hackneyed for Good Reason.”
In 2016, Chris became a sustaining donor to the Smittcamp Family Honors College to support scholarships for President’s Honors Scholars. When asked why he gives, he said, “I give to Smittcamp for one reason: gratitude.”
In March 2020, SFHC alumna Amanda Whitten gave a presentation at Honors Colloquium titled “Going Solo,” where she talked about lessons she’s learned from traveling the seven continents, building a law practice and a life of her own — mostly on her own.
